On February 8, at 8pm EST the Bravo! Network will air "Des McAnuff: A Life in Stages" documentary tribute to the Multi-time Tony-winning director and stage producer as part of the Great Canadian Bios series. The documentary is a film about one man on two journeys - one the search for understanding of his father he never knew and the other creative zeal that defines his relentless passion for the world of musical theatre.

Created by documentary filmmakers Craig Thompson (producer) and Michael Savoie (director), the film will follow Des to Stratford for the Summer season of the Stratford Theatre Festival and to Australia for the launch of "Jersey Boys" and will feature interviews with Pete Townshend, Billy Crystal, and Christopher Plummer.  Thompson and Savoie spent the better part of a year following McAnuff from the opening of Jersey Boys in Melbourne, to directing two plays at the Stratford Festival, all while developing shows in the U.K. and on Broadway. The film also explores McAnuff's personal life and songwriting talents.

In addition to being the longtime Artistic Director of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, McAnuff has directed Big River, The Who's Tommy and Jersey Boys on Broadway. He has also produced Tony award-winning revivals of the Broadway classics, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Into the Woods, 42nd Street, The King and I.

Every Sunday night, Bravo! delivers all new one-hour biographies on some of Canada's finest artists. A portrait of the legendary photographer Yousuf Karsh in Karsh is History kicked off the series last night on January 10. Next week, Bravo! takes viewers on a musical odyssey through the 50-year career of music icon and TV host Ian Tyson in Ian Tyson: Songs from the Gravel Road (January 17). Richard Margison: Folk Singing Opera Star (January 24) profiles the life of one of opera's leading tenors. Concluding the month is a biographical portrait of one of Canada's greatest painters who continues to push boundaries in art in Takao Tanabe: A Work of Art (January 31).
