Barr Agrees to Part Ways With Potential 'Roseanne' Spinoff

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that things may be underway for a potential ROSEANNE spinoff after the negotiations have moved to a new phase.

Sources have stated that ROSEANNE Barr herself has agreed to walk away from the series in order for the spinoff to continue into production after her series was cancelled due to her racist tweets.

ABC producer Carsey-Werner have insisted that Barr not participate in the spinoff, however many of the show's other cast members would remain on board. Barr also must waived the rights to fees and backend that she would be entitled to from the spinoff, which she has agreed to do so. The negotiation now stands in what, if any, payment she may receive.

Sources caution that the negotiations could change at any time. Another hurdle would be that ABC would need to officially pick up the spinoff even if Barr does sign off, but it is likely that they would given the viewer count for Roseanne.

The spinoff would revolved around Sarah Gilbert's character, Darlene. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are also expected to return, as is much of the creative team.
