This week on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE Jake hits it off with a woman named Sophia whom he meets at a bar. However, he finds out she is the defense attorney for a criminal he is trying to put in jail. Also, Gina and Charles work to put their relationship behind them. Read more, but be warned of SPOILERS!

Amy is late for work for the first time ever! The 9-9 is throwing around theories as to why, like being thrown into a different dimension, or in line at the bank (Holt's exciting theory). Amy runs in 70 seconds late, and Holt makes her tell them why, and it was because there was a problem at the bank! "Hot damn!" was Holt's excited response.

Jake and Terry are at the bar and Jake tells him that he's going to die alone and that work is all he has. Terry asks Jake what his "moves" are and tells him to talk about his non-work interests. Jake sees a pretty girl at the bar, and makes his move. Back at the precinct, Rosa tells Holt that Scully is running unopposed for Union elections again, but that he's incompetent. Rosa tells Amy she should run.

Jake and the girl at the bar sit down and eat really spicy hot wings together. At the 9-9, Boyle brings Gina her stuff, and tells her the "luxury sex romp" they have planned for the weekend is non-refundable, and they start fighting over who gets the room. Scully confronts Amy for being a "snake" for running against him. At the court, Jake and Terry meet up for their trial, and Jake tells him that he and the girl from the bar have "sexy time." The defensive attorney at their trial ends up being the woman from the bar, Sophia Perez. Uh oh!

Terry tells Jake that sleeping with a defensive attorney is literally "sleeping with the enemy." They talk to each other and end up arguing over who's job is worse, and Sophia says there is no conflict of interest because she's not interested in him. Oh, burn. Rosa is making Amy run for Union Rep, and Holt can't interfere. Rosa tries to tempt her with a button-maker. Back at court, Jake tells the judge that he and Sophia had "colitis" which in Jake speak means "coitus." The judge says he's fine with it since the defendent is as well. Gina and Boyle both sent each other emails giving them exciting plans so that they wouldn't use the room. They both realize this and continue to fight over who gets the room. The trial is taking place and Sophia is winning. If Jake and Terry don't get new evidence by tomorrow they don't have a chance.

Back at the precinct, Jake and Terry talk to the team and Terry tells them that Jake slept with Sophia, a defense attorney. Jake tells them they need to either recover the stolen gems or find the break-in tools to win the case. Amy puts pictures of Scully on her posters to remind them who actually wants to win. She also tells Rosa that she wrote a horrible speech for the debate Rosa signed her up for. Holt asks Amy to speak with him in his office. He tells Amy that she's "royally screwing up" and that she would make a great Union Rep. He tells her not to worry about being conflict with the brass as Union Rep, because he rose through the ranks even though he was in conflict with his superiors. She tells him she'll run.

In court, Jake tells Sophia he found the burglary tools in a dumb-waiter at the defendants place. At the 9-9, Boyle tries to get Holt to keep Gina overnight working, and Holt says she tried to do the same thing, so he calls Gina in his office and says they will both be working overnight. Back in court, the jury found the defendant not guilty.

Jake congratulates Sophia for letting another criminal walk free. Terry tells Jake it seems like he's met his match in Sophia. Jake can't believes he's going to ask out a defense attorney. Back at the precinct, the Union Rep debate is taking place. Amy says that even though she wants to be Captain, that doesn't mean she won't stand up for them. Jake goes to Sophia's office and asks her out. She says that if they do this they have to have rules, like no work talk. At the 9-9, Boyle and Gina are working overnight, and Boyle tells her that he gave his key to his dad, but then Gina tells Boyle she gave her key to her mom. At the hotel, Boyle's dad and Gina's mom run into each other in the room, and Gina's mom says that she does need to have more "romantic adventures."

So, Jake has a new love interest! And a love interest who can actually be a good match for him! Sophia, the defense attorney, has definitely proven herself as a worthy opponent, er I mean companion, for Jake, being able to quote the same movies and insult him better than he can insult her. I can't wait to see how this relationship pans out, and more importantly, how long it lasts. Eva Longoria was a great guest star, and I hope she sticks around for more episodes, because she and Andy Samberg have great chemistry and are a good match!

Amy is running for Union Rep! More like, Amy is going to be the next Union Rep, unless somehow Scully pulls out a win, which I doubt. This will be a big positive for the 9-9, since Amy always has everyone's best interest at heart. This will definitely amount to a lot more responsibilty for Amy, and she will probably be butting heads a lot of people in the future.

Boyle and Gina are still dealing with the repercussions of their romantic tryst, i.e. a romantic hotel stay that they booked. However, the end result was Boyle's dad and Gina's mom staying there, and doing more than sleeping there. This will definitely bring more conflict for our favorite weird couple in the 9-9, since neither of them will do so well in these types of situations.

Noteworthy Moments:

-Jake and Sophia constantly fighting over who is better at ping pong, and playing with an avocado pit at one point.

-Amy knowing the name and model of the button-maker Rosa tried to tempt her with

-Jake thinking "coitus" was "Colitis"

-Jake and Sophia both referring to each other as Hans Gruber from Die Hard

-Terry saying that the hard part is keeping his buttons on his shirt

-Boyle trying to trick Gina out of staying at the hotel by sending her a fake email from Beyonce's mom saying that she has a tryout for a back-up dancer

-Jake saying that he "stole hella peppermints"
