Atresmedia Commissions Spanish Version of Reality Series COWBOY BUILDERS
By: Caryn Robbins
A Spanish version of the long-running hit home-repair reality series Cowboy Builders has been commissioned by Atresmedia Group in Spain from Warner Bros. International Television Production. This is the fifth local adaptation of the hit U.K. series, following commissions in USA, Belgium, France and Sweden.
The show follows two presenters as they ride to the rescue of homeowners all over the country who have had their homes wrecked by corrupt building contractors. While one repairs the damage left behind with a dramatic home makeover, the other tracks down the Rogue builder to confront them and stop them causing chaos elsewhere. Originally produced in the U.K. by Ricochet (a Warner Bros. Television Productions U.K. company), the series has run from 2009 for nine seasons on Channel 5 with season 10 due to air early next year. "Cowboy Builders has been a hit show for Channel 5 since its launch five years ago and in that time it has also travelled well internationally. Viewers enjoy seeing the bad guys being brought to justice alongside a glamorous home makeover. We are excited about seeing the most recent, Spanish version of the show" said Andrew Zein, Senior Vice President, Creative, Format Development and Sales, Warner Bros. International Television Production.
