Ann Hampton Callaway to Bring HERE'S TO LIFE to Jazz Venue, Andy Bianco to Follow
New York guitarist Andy Bianco will perform music from his latest album, NYC STORIES, at the Tarrytown venue.
Jazz Forum in Tarrytown will host Tony Award-nominated singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway with her show Here's to Life on Friday and Saturday, August 28 and 29, at 7 and 9 PM.
The show is described as a new, uplifting production in which Callaway 'dazzles us with a night of gorgeous songs that celebrate life's richness, despite our challenges and because of them.' She breathes wisdom and passion into Arlen, Porter, Rodgers, and the Bergmans, as well as contemporary writers and her own originals.
Christopher Loudon of Jazz Times has called Callaway the '...superbly intelligent, singularly creative pop-jazz stylist who can stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Streisand, Ronstadt, Shirley Horn, and Dianne Reeves...'
Tickets for the Callaway performances are available at Jazz Forum's website.
New York guitarist Andy Bianco will follow with a performance on Sunday, August 30, at 4 and 6 PM. Bianco's guitar work has been described by critics as 'deliciously dynamic,' marked by a fantastic sound, boundless imagination, and fire.
Drawing from jazz, R&B, and soul, his music tells stories with color and conviction, moving from driving ensemble passages to moments of quiet depth. His latest album NYC Stories captures the full range of his artistry, a vivid portrait of a musician deeply in love with his city and his craft.
Tickets for the Bianco performance are also available at Jazz Forum's website.
