Amy Adams to Be Honored at Hollywood Film Awards

"We are very proud to recognize the films and work of this talented actress and accomplished artists," said the Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Awards.

The 2012 Hollywood Film Awards has also announced that it will honor director David O. Russell with the "Hollywood Director Award," Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro with the "Hollywood Supporting Actor Award," Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard with the "Hollywood Actress Award," producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner with the "Hollywood Producers Award," writer/director Judd Apatow with the "Hollywood Comedy Award," actor John Hawkes with the "Hollywood Breakout Performance Award" for "The Sessions," and Quvenzhane Wallis with the "New Hollywood Award" for "Beasts of the Southern Wild." Other honorees include cinematographer Wally Pfister and visual effects supervisorsJanek Sirrs and Jeff White. In addition, director Peter Ramsey's "Rise of the Guardians" will be honored with the "Hollywood Animation Award," along with additional honorees to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 22, 2012. The event honors cherished stars and up-and-coming talent, and traditionally kicks off the film awards season with the biggest stars and top industry executives in attendance.

"We are very appreciative to be the first stop of the awards season. In the last nine years, a total of 85 Oscar nominations and 32 Oscars were given to the honorees of the Hollywood Film Awards," said de Abreu.

Last year's awards show reached a total TV audience of more than 41 million media impressions, in addition to more than 300 million online and print readers' impressions.

Aside from celebrating accomplishments on screen, the Hollywood Film Awards established the "Hollywood Gives Back" program to expand and continue highlighting and assisting important local and national charities to raise funds. Over the years, the Hollywood Film Awards has contributed to such charities as the following: The Art of Elysium, Artists for Human Rights, Artists for Peace and Justice, MatchingDonors.com, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, the Enough Project, and Variety The Children's Charity of So. CA, among others.

Further, the Hollywood Film Awards selects individuals to be recipients of their "Hollywood Humanitarian Awards" in recognition of their contribution to the betterment of their communities or society at large. Prior recipients include Nobel Peace Prize winner and ex-President of East Timor, Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta, Nobel Laureate Jody Williams, Father Rick Frechette, and actor and activist Sean Penn.

ABOUT Amy Adams

A three-time Academy Award-nominated actress, Amy Adams can currently be seen starring in Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master," opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The critically acclaimed film broke art house box office records in its opening weekend. Adams can also presently be seen in Robert Lorenz's "Trouble with the Curve" opposite Clint Eastwood. Later this year she will have a cameo in director Walter Salle's adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal beat generation novel, "On The Road," and in 2013, Adams will be seen in Zack Snyder's "Superman" reboot for Warner Bros., "Man of Steel" where she will play "Lois Lane," as well as the "Untitled Spike Jonze Film."

Adams previously starred in David O. Russell's "The Fighter," opposite Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. The role garnered Adams Golden Globe, SAG and BAFTA nominations, as well as her third Academy Award nomination in five years. Her previous Academy Award-nominated roles include John Patrick Shanley's "Doubt," opposite Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Phil Morrison's "Junebug." Adams is also noted for her performances in box office hits, including "Julie and Julia," "Enchanted," and "Sunshine Cleaning." Behind the camera, Adams has teamed with Maven Pictures' Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray to produce "Object of Beauty," which she is also set to star in.

She recently starred in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of INTO THE WOODS at the Delacorte Theater.

Academy Award-nominated editor Dylan Tichenor, A.C.E., most recently worked on John Hillcoat's prohibition drama, "Lawless," Ben Affleck's "The Town," which earned him a Satellite Award nomination, and Drew Barrymore's "Whip It." He recently completed work on Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming "Zero Dark Thirty" for Sony.

Tichenor served as editor on Warner Brothers' "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," starring Brad Pitt and directed by Andrew Dominik, and the Miramax drama "Doubt," for director John Patrick Shanley. His work onPaul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood" garnered him both an Academy Award and A.C.E. Eddie Award nomination. His past editing credits include Ang Lee's acclaimed drama "Brokeback Mountain," which earned him nominations from BAFTA and the American Cinema Editors Guild, Mike Figgis' thriller "Cold Creek Manor" and Wes Anderson's "The Royal Tenenbaums," for which he received his first American Cinema Editors Award nomination.

Tichenor also worked on three films with Paul Thomas Anderson, beginning as post-production supervisor on "Hard Eight" before editing the award-winning "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia." His other credits as film editor include Brad Silberling's Academy Award-winning "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," M. Night Shyamalan's "Unbreakable," and Anthony Drazan's "Hurlyburly."

Academy Award-nominated Production Designer Sarah Greenwood, whose work will be featured this year in Focus Films' "Anna Karenina," will receive the Hollywood Film Festival's Hollywood Production Designer of the Year Award at the Festival's October 22 Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony. She was similarly honored four years ago for her work on "The Soloist" and "Sherlock Holmes."

Greenwood was nominated for an Academy Award in 2006 and for an Art Director Guild Award for Best Achievement in Art Direction for "Atonement." She also received a British Academy of Film and Television Award (BAFTA) and an Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Technical Achievement, both for "Atonement." She was nominated for an Academy Award in 2006 for her work on "Pride & Prejudice." In previous years, she has been nominated for two other BAFTA Awards for "The Last King" (2003) and "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" (1996). Greenwood's additional credits for production design include: "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," "Starter for Ten," "Charles II," Bodily Harm," and "Born Romantic."
