As all 4 of its comedies grew week to week, ABC once again delivered Tuesday's Top 2 comedies in Adults 18-49 with "The Middle" (1.6/6) and "American Housewife" (1.5/5), dominating Fox's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (0.9/4) and "New Girl" (0.8/3) head to head by 78% and 88% at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively. Other competition on the night included NBC's finale of "The Voice" (9:00-11:00 p.m.) and CBS' mid-season Tuesday drama finales.
At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "The Middle" increased week to week in Total Viewers (+8% - 6.6 million vs. 6.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+14% - 1.6/6 vs. 1.4/5), equaling a best-since-premiere rating - since 10/11/16. At 8:30 p.m., ABC's "American Housewife" grew over the prior week in Total Viewers (+10% - 5.6 million vs. 5.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+7% - 1.5/5 vs. 1.4/5). At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "Fresh Off the Boat" built on the previous week's telecast in Total Viewers (+5% - 4.1 million vs. 3.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 1.2/4 vs. 1.1/4). "Fresh Off the Boat" was the night's No. 3 comedy, outdelivering both of Fox's sitcoms in viewers and young adults. At 9:30 p.m., ABC's "The Real O'Neals" gained week to week in Total Viewers (+10% - 3.3 million vs. 3.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+13% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.8/3). "The Real O'Neals" was Tuesday's No. 4 comedy in viewers and young adults (tie). At 10:00 p.m. against the final hour of "The Voice" finale, a primetime repeat of "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Rogue One a Star Wars Story" added 1.8 million viewers to its original late-night broadcast this past Friday (2.2 million on 12/9/16), bringing its 2-night total for the episode to 4.0 million viewers.Image courtesy of ABC
