AKA Studio Productions and Kierstead Productions Present MULLIGAN

Executive Producers AKA Studio Productions ("Rules of Cool," Fullscreen) and Kierstead Productions (Broadway's Pretty Woman, Kinky Boots, Waitress) are pleased to announce the world premiere of the pilot episode for the original drama series Mulligan, an "Official Selection" at the 2018 Los Angeles Film Festival, one of three pilots in the world chosen to be screened at the prestigious festival. The screening is set for Tuesday evening, September 26, 2018 at 7:15 p.m. at the Arc Light Theater (9500 Culver Blvd) in Culver City, CA.

Synopsis: Upon release from prison, former U.S. Amateur Champion, Jack O'Mally, returns home to work at his brother's driving range and miniature golf course, finding himself at the confluence of his past, present, and future. The Mulligan pilot, titled "Trajectories," is directed by television veteran Steve Parys ("The Outsiders," Concussion), who also serves as co-showrunner and was filmed in Pittsburgh with an independent crew of 50.

Patrick Cannon, who is the writer/creator and co-showrunner, stars as Jack O' Mally, a fallen former US Golf Champion, who has recently been released from Allegheny County Prison. Cannon, in his final year of Point Park University's MFA in Screenwriting program, has worked with theater companies throughout the country including Pittsburgh Public Theater, Drury Lane, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Steppenwolf's Garage Rep, Pittsburgh Playhouse Rep, City Theater, and Cape May Stage.

The show also stars and is produced by Ashley Kate Adams ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Pitching Tents," Broadway's La Cage aux Folles) as Mona, his soon to be co-worker at his family owned driving range.

The pilot episode also features Michael Sullivan, Tony Bingham, Hazel Leroy, Tracy Turner, Ian McIntosh, Makeda Duncan, Patrick Jordan ("Southpaw"), Daina Griffith (Dark Knight Rises), Jason McCune ("The Outsiders"), John Shepard (Broadway's American Buffalo, A View from the Bridge, "Quantum Leap"), David Toole (Downward Dog), Siovhan Christensen (Downward Dog) and Missy Moreno.

The Director of Photography is Brian Osmond, a 2018 Society of Camera Operator's "Camera Operator of the Year" Nominee for his work on NETFLIX'S "Mindhunter." Additional producers on the pilot include Caroline Collins, Steve Parys and Laury Christensen as co-producer.

AKA Studio Productions (Ashley Kate Adams, Founder/Executive Producer) is a developmental production company for all creative ventures that focuses on producing and developing projects such as Broadway musicals, television and web series, comedy, music, & art. Ashley Kate Adams is a Broadway actress and budding Producer. Born and raised in Louisville, KY into musical theatre family, she attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and graduated in 2009 with a BFA in Musical Theatre. At age 23 she made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award Winning Revival of La Cage Aux Folles. Following the Broadway run she went on to tour the country with the show and began to lay the ground work for AKA Studio Productions. She has been hired as an actress by HBO, CBS, USA and has starred in independent features as well as starring on stage in Off-Broadway and Regional productions. She started AKA in 2011 with Ari McKay Wilford.

Kierstead Productions (Jim Kierstead, Executive Producer) is a two-time Tony and Olivier-winning producer of the Broadway and London productions of Kinky Boots and Pippin. Other Broadway credits include Pretty Woman, Waitress, The Great Comet, Side Show, You Can't Take It with You, and the upcoming productions of American Son and Ain't Too Proud. Jim developed and produced the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway premiere of Thrill Me - The Leopold & Loeb Story (nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical in 2005). In 2010, he was a producer of the Off-Broadway premiere of Yank! - A World War II Love Story (nominated for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Musical). And most recently, the musical Unexpected Joy that made its Off-Broadway debut at The York Theatre Company last spring and is currently running at The Southwark Playhouse in London. His film and TV credits include Wakefield, Ace, Between Love and Goodbye, and Kiss Me, Kill Me. He is currently on the Board of Directors of The York Theatre Company, The Abingdon Theatre Company and The New York Theatre Barn.
