ABC News' 'Nightline' Beats CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in Total Viewers

"Nightline" posted double-digit gains week to week (1.120 million, 395,000 and 275,000, respectively, for w/o 7/3/17) in Total Viewers (+12%), Adults 25-54 (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+18%), hitting 12-week highs across the board - since w/o 6/12/17.

"Nightline" saw gains on the same week last year (478,000 and 367,000, respectively, for w/o 9/5/17) in Adults 25-54 (+7%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%).

"Nightline" narrowed its gaps with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" from the year-ago week by more than half in Total Viewers (-66% - 90,000 vs. 267,000), Adults 25-54 (-53% - 134,000 vs. 288,000) and Adults 18-49 (-51% - 145,000 vs. 295,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+88,000 - 1.402 million vs. 1.314 million), Adults 25-54 (+41,000 - 529,000 vs. 488,000) and Adults 18-49 (+24,000 - 398,000 vs. 374,000).

Stories reported on "Nightline" last week included extensive coverage on Hurricane Irma and mass evacuations turning Miami into a ghost town, an in-depth report with the Rohingya, a Muslim minority considered one of the most persecuted groups in the world as they flee for their lives to Bangladesh, an interview with an ex-port authority detective saying he warned about a terrorism threat a decade before 9/11, the search and rescue missions drones take to save lives in emergency scenarios and a look inside the world of counterfeit footwear.
