ABC Family Launches Offical SHADOWHUNTERS Snapchat Account

ABC Family's highly anticipated new original series "Shadowhunters" is making its debut later this week at New York Comic Con, and the network is launching its official "Shadowhunters" Snapchat account (TVShadowhunters) to make sure fans get an insider's look. ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016.

Starting on Thursday, October 8th the "Shadowhunters" Snapchat will premiere an exclusive look at an all-new promo at 11:00 a.m. ET/8:00 a.m. PT to kick off the New York Comic Con coverage. Throughout the weekend fans can go to Snapchat to get videos and photos of the Oct. 10th "Shadowhunters" panel and autograph session, the Oct. 9th Cassandra Clare panel and autograph session, looks at the ABC Family booth activities, a look at some of the series props brought exclusively to Comic Con and more.

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, "Shadowhunters" follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters - human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother, Jocelyn, is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

"Shadowhunters" is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

Part of the Disney|ABC Television Group, ABC Family (to be renamed Freeform in January 2016) is distributed in 94 million homes. The network entertains and connects to audiences with bold, relatable programming that celebrates the epic adventure of becoming an adult, from first kiss to first kid. The programming is a combination of network-defining original series and original movies, quality acquired series and blockbuster theatricals.
