Daft Punk cofounder Thomas Bangalter is releasing Mirage - Ballet for 16 Dancers, a new album arriving on June 5, 2025, from Erato Records. The first track, “Mirage: Part II," is now available, in addition to an album trailer. Listen to it below and pre-order the album here.

The album features the experimental music from the eponymous ballet, which hails from Geneva, Switzerland’s Grand Théâtre de Genève. Mirage is a ritual for 16 dancers conceived by choreographer Damien Jalet and contemporary artist Kōhei Nawa.

Bangalter's other current projects include a public piece in Paris that he worked on, along with a forthcoming art installation with JR. The multi-disciplinary artist invited Bangalter to provide the sound for La Caverne du Pont Neuf, which will transform Paris’ oldest bridge into a cavern for three weeks.

Thomas Bangalter is a French artist, musician and composer. Cofounder and member of the duo Daft Punk (1993-2021), his work focuses on the relationship between humans and technology. Living and working in Paris, his current works consist of contemporary composition and exploring the intersection between electronic structures, orchestral immersive music and abstract sound sculptures.

Through various experiments, ballet and contemporary dance scores, film scores and art installations, he has notably collaborated with JR, Damien Jalet, Hofesh Shechter, Angelin Preljocaj, Quentin Dupieux, and Gaspar Noé.
