THE REVOLUTION, the band Prince himself formed, have added more dates to their growing U.S. tour. The group has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from fans across the country. Each night the band's performance transports themselves and their audience with an incredible playlist from their catalogue of hits, highlights being classic cuts from Purple Rain. The deluxe re-issue of Purple Rain, from Warner Bros. Records, was released on June 23rd and debuts this week at # 1 on the Billboard chart. THE REVOLUTION were presented with 13X Platinum Award Plaques at a party celebrating the re-issue and hosted by Spike Lee.

From the reviews one could be forgiven for thinking THE REVOLUTION has been touring for years, but actually, it's been over three decades since they had performed a full show together. The love has been overwhelming; but not just from the fans but also from the media.

"The band was razor sharp, inspired, and knew exactly what the audience wanted: a concert that was a celebration, a reunion, a public mourning - and perhaps most of all, a release. And from the very beginning of the set, The Revolution made everyone in the crowd a participant." - Variety

The band appeared on NPR's "All Things Considered," sharing an intimate conversation with THE REVOLUTION legendary host Michel Martin, exploring insights and memories in tribute of their friend and band leader, PRINCE. The band was also featured, LIVE on SiriusXM's VOLUME channel (106), for an hour Town Hall Q & A with esteemed journalist, Alan Light and former MTV VJ, Mark Goodman. Rave reviews have been pouring in from all corners of the media spectrum: Washington Post, Rolling Stone,Brooklyn Vegan, USA Today, Variety, Huffington Post, Village Voice, and more...

The Revolution is credited on three Prince albums, Purple Rain, Around the World In a Day and Parade. As NPR's Michel Martin notes fans still in mourning "..and those paying tribute often return to one monumental work: "Purple Rain" The album and the film won three grammys and an Oscar, influenced countless musicians and made Prince a superstar. A critical ingredient in that success though, was his band, The Revolution..known for their big sound, tight discipline, and above all CHEMISTRY..." A testament to the power of their Chemistry is the band's decision to reunite and tour after three decades.
