City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, announces powerful singer Res, pop rock band FrEddy Jones Band and more. The following shows go on sale to the public on Wednesday, November 23, at noon at citywinery.com/chicago.

Stephan Jenkins (of Third Eye Blind)

Thursday, December 15

$40/$45/$50/$55

Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind performs an acoustic set of new songs and fan favorites. Third Eye Blind, one of the most cited and emulated to this new generation of indie bands, has just released its first album in six years, Dopamine, which has debuted at #7 on the Billboard Sales Chart. Songwriter Stephan Jenkins, renowned for his inimitable lyrical sensibility, developed this collection while on tour over the last few years behind the band's previous number one album, Ursa Major. Though it employs signature guitar riffs, Dopamine is very much an exploration and rumination of the present tense. Jenkins utilizes his characteristic rhythmic vocal style and lyrical prowess on issues of identity, connection, isolation and authenticity while keeping a sharp eye on a culture in rapid change. Paradoxically Third Eye Blind's focus on guitar and live playing sounds novel and newly fresh in a pop landscape consumed with sequenced drums and keyboard tracks. There is a sense of spontaneity to Dopamine that can only come from their evolution as a live band. What remains constant, however, is the endearing quality in the music and the fierce heartfelt core of Jenkins' narrative.

FrEddy Jones Band

Sunday, January 1; 7:00 p.m.

$28/$32/$35/$38

One of America's premiere roots rock acts, FrEddy Jones Band (and no, none of the members are actually named FrEddy Jones) was founded by guitarists and singer/songwriters Marty Lloyd and Wayne Healy. The band is best known for its number-one hits "In A Daydream" and "Take The Time." Now, this long-running act is back with their new release, Never Change, helmed by Producers Justin Niebank (Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock) and label partner Timm Martin of Dustimmoff Music.

Marty Lloyd characterizes the sessions for Never Change-which features the hit song "Those Diamonds" and the project's title track -as euphoric, "Looking back, our approach to making Never Change was very similar to the historic days down at Muscle Shoals." he says. "The essence of our sound and songwriting was supported by Justin's 'A Team' cast and the room soared from the first down beat. As recording artists we chase that feeling. It was incredibly uplifting and joyful!"

Justin Niebank, a three-time Grammy winning producer/engineer, adds of the album, "Never Change is the best record I have worked on in years!"

Leftover Salmon

Sunday, February 5; 1:00 p.m.

$30 General Admission

For the past quarter-century, Colorado's Leftover Salmon has established itself as one of the great purveyors of Americana music, digging deep into the well that supplies its influences; rock 'n' roll, folk, bluegrass, Cajun, soul, zydeco, jazz and blues. During their twenty-five plus years as a band, they have headlined shows and festivals from coast to coast, released nine albums, and maintained a vibrant, relevant and influential voice in the music world. The evolution of Leftover Salmon's music is influenced by Leftover Salmon co-founders Drew Emmitt (mandolin/vocals) and Vince Herman's (guitar/singer) keen musical instincts and follows a musical path that adheres to the deep tradition the duo started when they first formed the group along with deceased banjo player Mark Vann. The addition of new band members over the years has nurtured an unmistakable evolution and freshness in Leftover Salmon's sound and has added an edge to the long-lasting power of the band's music. Fueled by the rhythm section of long time bassist Greg Garrison, drummer Alwyn Robinson, and Salmon's newest member, keyboardist Erik Deustch, the band is currently enjoying a creative renaissance. The front-line trio of Emmitt, Herman and prodigious banjo player Andy Thorn are continually challenged and pushed in new directions as the band collectively searches for new spaces and sounds within their extensive catalog of songs.
