Singer-songwriter Louis Matteo will perform at Spike Hill on Wednesday, March 16th at 9:00 PM. Guitar in hand, Matteo crafts heart-on-the-sleeve tales of "heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss" that can bring down even the manliest man.

Matteo began playing music at age 9, deeply inspired by his multifaceted grandmother. Many shows with teenage punk bands and high school wind ensemble concerts later, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts to study at the Berklee College of Music, where he graduated in 2007, Magna Cum Laude. Having released his debut EP, a hearty stew of acoustic guitar-driven indie music entitled "Confront The Congregation," Matteo earned comparisons to James Mercer (The Shins), Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) and Elliott Smith. He is now living in New York City and working on his full-length debut album. Admission to his show at Spike Hill is free.
