The pop-rock quintet R5, which has rapidly emerged as a young and exciting new voice in the music world, has announced a Minneapolis performance as part of their Sometime Last Night national tour, set for 7 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, at Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre (805 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis). This group, mostly siblings from the Lynch family, are launching their sophomore album Sometime Last Night on July 10, following their hit release Louder which rocketed to #1 on iTunes in ten countries in 2013. Ryland is the opening act. Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, June 19. For tickets and information, visit HennepinTheatreTrust.org or call 1.800.982.2787.

Led by vocalist/guitarist Ross Lynch, best known as "Austin" on Disney Channel's "Austin & Ally" show, R5 came together in 2009. The group is comprised of Lynch's brothers Riker (bass/vocals) and Rocky (lead guitar/vocals), and sister Rydel (keyboard/vocals), with friend Ellington "Ratliff" (drums/vocals), who is from Wisconsin. The band is fresh off an electrifying performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," and also recently appeared on "Good Morning America," "Ellen," "LIVE! with Kelly & Michael" and at the 2014 annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

Riker most recently finished as runner-up on Season 20 of ABC's smash hit "Dancing With The Stars," consistently receiving top scores from the judges and fans alike.

Ross as Austin Moon, is one-half of an internet music duo on Disney's hit comedy series "Austin & Ally," now in its fourth and final season. This summer, he will appear as modern day surfer Brady in the Disney Channel movie Teen Beach 2, the sequel to 2013's hit Teen Beach Movie.

The band self-released their first EP, Ready Set Rock in 2010 and signed with Hollywood Records in 2012. They released their second EP, Loud, in 2013, prior to the full album Louder. The quintet starred in a five-part VEVO series titled "R5 on R5," which let cameras follow them on a 2013 sold-out tour that included shows in the U.S., Canada, Australia, England and France. The band made a triumphant return to Europe in early 2014 and recently released a six-part VEVO series, "R5 Live in London," capturing the mania of R5 fans during a magnetic show this past March. The band recently brought R5: All Day, All Night to the big screen with exclusive interviews and concert footage.

R5 will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis). Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, June 19, 2015 and range from $35 to $49.50 (subject to change) depending on seating preference. A limited number of VIP packages are available online and start at $103. Ryland will open. All prices include applicable facility fees. Additional service charges may apply. Tickets may be purchased in person at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Avenue, downtown Minneapolis), online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, or by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Center.
