Prince Returns to Warner Bros. and Plans to Release New Albums

According to Billboard, Prince has returned to Warner Bros. after an 18 year dispute. The new deal will grant him ownership over his catalog. His classic Purple Rain album will also be remastered and re-released. Aside from re-issuing his past music, Prince also plans to release a completely new album.

Prince stated, "A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship."

In 1996, Prince split from Warner Bros. because he felt he was a slave to the music industry. Regardless, Prince has had major success with his music. He has had ten platinum records and thirty Top 40 singles. He has also won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award.
