Prince Compilation Album to Feature Rare and Unreleased Tracks from Music Icon
Titled "Timeless," the album arrives on August 28, 2026.
The Prince Estate is opening up the recording vault of the beloved musician. Through a partnership with Sony's Legacy Recordings, a new compilation album will be released featuring 10 rare and unreleased studio recordings from the late music icon.
Titled "Timeless," the album will be released during the 10th anniversary year of Prince's passing and encompasses tracks from every phase of his career, from 1977 to 2016, and has been mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer and producer Chris James.
Arriving on August 28, 2026, the first single is now available: "Stone," a previously unreleased recording from spring 1995 written by Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even. Listen to it below.
The announcement coincides with Prince Celebration 2026, taking place June 3–7, 2026, across Paisley Park and downtown Minneapolis. This year's event features exclusive listening sessions, archival presentations, and conversations with Prince collaborators, which offer insights into the newly unveiled vault recordings.
In addition to its streaming release, Timeless will also be available in multiple physical configurations, including a D2C-exclusive limited-edition Purple Marble Vinyl, standard black vinyl, and CD. Preorder/pre-save the album here.
