A new heart. A new life. A new creation. These words seem merely platitudes to some, but for internationally acclaimed composer Paul Cardall, they are quite literally the reason he is alive. Cardall, a two time #1 Billboard-charting pianist with 20 studio albums to his credit, is literally a living miracle.

In 2009, facing congenital heart disease, Paul Cardall was told by cardiologists his defective heart would soon stop beating. But, as a result of a complex heart transplant, after waiting 385 days on the organ donor list, Cardall went on to release two #1 Billboard charting albums.

Now, with his latest release, A NEW CREATION, Cardall explores a deeper level of spirituality, introducing lyrics and full orchestration into his catalogue for the first time. "Each song on this album is designed to invoke deep spiritual feelings," Cardall notes. "The album represents a journey from innocence at birth, through the ensuing brokenness of the human condition, culminating in mankind's ability to rise above that broken state to their full potential."

While some lyrics employ specifically Christian themes, the music is targeted to a universal audience. Fans of Cardall's music live in over 100 countries, according to his subscription based newsletter. Since the advent of streaming radio, the Steinway Sponsored pianist has received over 1 billion plays on streaming radio. "Regardless of their spiritual persuasion, listeners will feel a personal connection to God through Paul's new album," notes album orchestral arranger Shane Mickelsen. "This music transcends languages and cultures to reach people at their deepest level of identity and yearning."

A personal highlight for Cardall was composing the music for "One by One," a song written with Elder David A. Bednar, one of the global, governing apostles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which Cardall is a member. Bednar, who penned the lyrics, has traveled to six continents during his decade of leadership, and the song reflects that appreciation for the unique challenges faced by individuals in each part of the world.

"A New Creation" releases September 16, 2016 by Stone Angel Music, and features soloists Nathan Pacheco (Disney Pearl Records; Yanni Voices tour) and Patrice Tipoki (Fantine, Les Miserables international Broadway tour). The album is distributed by CDBaby, Alliance Entertainment, and Deseret Book Distributors, and is also available on streaming internet radio.
