Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk Among Artists to Receive Sizzling Certifications

Many of music's hottest artists such as Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Justin Timberlake and Daft Punk earned outstanding Gold & Platinum (G&P) awards in June, according to the RIAA's newest monthly G&P Program tally.

Celebrations were in order for Miley Cyrus as her Fourth of July anthem "Party In The U.S.A." (Hollywood Records) earned the month's highest digital single award - a 6x multi-Platinum - counting download sales and on-demand streams.

June also brought Sunshine State country duo Florida Georgia Line a 4x multi-Platinum award for "Cruise" (Republic Nashville), while Justin Timberlake's love ballad "Mirrors" (RCA Records) certified 2x multi-Platinum. "Mirrors" comes from Justin's 2x multi-Platinum 2013 album "The 20/20 Experience," while he recently announced a sequel album to come this September - "The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2."

Four bands or artists earned their first Platinum single awards in June: Columbia Records house music duo Daft Punk, now solo Hollywood Records songstress Selena Gomez, Republic Records vocalist Ariana Grande and Hollywood Records pop singer Bridgit Mendler for their respective summer songs "Get Lucky," "Come & Get It," "The Way" and "Ready Or Not." Additionally, as a band, Selena Gomez & The Scene earned three Platinum song awards for "A Year Without Rain," "Round and Round" and "Hit The Lights."

Kudos to Big Machine Records star Tim McGraw who secured his fifth career Platinum single for "Highway Don't Care" featuring the all-star lineup of Taylor Swift and Keith Urban on guitar.

In June the RIAA awarded two first-ever Gold song awards. The celebrated plaques went to Walt Disney Records pop star Bella Thorne with singer Zendaya for "Watch Me" and Interscope electronic music DJ Zedd for "Clarity."

Big props to Las Vegas rock band Imagine Dragons for earning their first Platinum album award for "Night Visions" (KIDinaKORNER, Interscope Records, 2012). Released last fall, "Night Visions" is the group's debut studio album featuring the double-Platinum hit "Radioactive" and popular Platinum song "It's Time."

Luke Bryan's second album "Doin' My Thing" has earned the Capitol Nashville crooner his second Platinum album award. Additionally, Luke's new song "Crash My Party" certified Gold in June (his ninth!).

French house music DJ David Guetta and country songstress trio Pistol Annies each certified their first RIAA Gold albums in June. Guetta's Gold was earned for his Capitol Records album "Nothing But The Beat," while the Pistol Annies Gold went to the group's RCA Records Nashville debut "Hell On Heels."

Notably, soulful singer Kelly Clarkson earned her fifth career Gold album for her "Greatest Hits - Chapter One" released on RCA Records in 2012.
