London 'electro folk' duo Malpas have released their new video for 'Where The River Runs.' The track is taken from their forthcoming debut full-length album Rain, River, Sea, out July 31st via Killing Moon Records (with US distribution from Yebo Music.)

A feast for the eyes, producer and one half of the group, Andy Savours explains the concept behind the video:

"This is the second video we've made with the brilliant Nicola Saint-Marc. This time the script played with the idea of being stuck in an eternal loop....a little bit ground hog day, a little bit memento, where it's uncertain whether or not the character is complicit in his own nightmare. The swells and glitches of the video reflect the lyrical movement in the song and the stunning location and shooting give it a strange atmosphere we love. Thanks also to Matt Jopling for his great performance....a star in the making we think."

The track has also gotten the remix treatment by Cloud Boat that Noisey describes as "a tidy remix -- by getting their womp on big style. Listen to one thousand finger clicks in unison and the sinister sonic swirl. They've made "Where the River Runs" a dark dance floor banger. Nicely done." Click below!

Malpas is songwriter Ali M. Forbes and producer Andy Savours. The sound of Malpas combines the hushed melancholy of Nick Drake and the euphoric soundscapes of early Aphex Twin with a dollop of Tears For Fears pop ambition and Beta Band lo-fi scratchiness added in. Malpas is about simple songs of love, loss, loneliness and finding freedom in the imagination and the juxtoposition of acoustic and electonic instrumentation makes for an all together innovative sound.

For Andy Savours, this is his first official venture out from behind the mixing desk, starting his career training under Alan Moulder and Flood at Assault and Battery, working on releases from The Horrors, Sigur Ros and The Killers before developing an impressive production resume of his own, making records with artists including The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, My Bloody Valentine and Cloud Boat. Savours is presently working in the studio with My Bloody Valentine on a project soon to be revealed.

The summer will be a busy one for Malpas recently appearing at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton and performing later this summer at the renowned Reading/Leeds Festival in August. More dates and US plans to be announced soon including performances at The CMJ Music Marathon in New York City this coming October.
