The Royal Albert Hall has announced its programme from May 2012, which will include Bruce Forsyth, Elvis Costello, Swan Lake on Ice, and two concerts from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the Spring of 2012, Sir Bruce Forsyth will have been working in showbusiness for 70 years. To celebrate the occasion, he returns to the London stage for the first time in over ten years for a one-off performance of comedy and music at the Royal Albert Hall.

Says Bruce “I can’t believe it’s been such a long time since I last did what I love best – working to a live theatre audience. It’s how I started and what I did for so many, many years. Television is great but for me as a performer nothing compares to a live theatre show.”

The show will feature songs from Bruce's critically acclaimed EMI album, These Are My Favourites.

Elvis Costello will be joined by his 'Spectacular Spinning Songbook' as his Revolver tour comes to the Hall.

An overture of five uninterrupted rock and roll tunes announces Elvis Costello and the Imposters to the stage, after which members of the audience are invited to spin the gigantic vaudevillian contraption to select the next song.

The Imperial Ice Stars, the international ice dance sensation, will return to the Royal Albert Hall with a dynamic new staging of their award-winning masterpiece, Swan Lake on Ice, following their acclaimed performance of Cinderella on Ice in 2010.

The 32 World, European and National Championship skaters, who between them hold more than 250 competition medals, take contemporary ice dance to a new level with their awe-inspiring and agile feats, some of which are so complex they haven’t yet been named.

Leading ice choreographer Tony Mercer combines daring high-speed leaps, throws and lifts with the most graceful and sublime ice dancing, performed on a specially-created frozen stage. Tchaikovsky’s memorable music will be performed by a live orchestra.

This never-seen-before performance, specially adapted for the magnificent setting of the Royal Albert Hall, will feature sumptuous costumes, projection, and special effects.
