Lilyisthatyou Releases New EP FROM THE GARDEN I GREW

Alt-pop artist Lilyisthatyou has released her anticipated new EP FROM THE GARDEN I GREW with standout new single and focus track 'NOSTALGIA BABY.' The 5-song project arrives on the heels of singles 'MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS' and 'EMPTY UNIVERSE,' which have built significant momentum heading into her fall international headline tour. 'THE FLOWERS HAVE FEELINGS TOUR' kicks off September 19th in Warsaw, Poland.
FROM THE GARDEN I GREW marks a seminal turning point in Lily's burgeoning career as she comes into her own sonically with a dedicated legion of supporters and fans called 'The Garden.' Both Lily's vocal prowess and introspection on the EP span a dreamy blend of bedroom pop and exquisite production, combining electronic elements with modern hip-hop influence — an amalgamation of what she calls 'dirty pop,' traditional in structure but as gritty as she is. Her sound is shape-shifting and disruptive, bringing punk's defiance to pop, while her bold songwriting tackles subjects such as sex, agency, addiction, and the absurd standards placed on women.
One of the standout tracks, 'BUZZBALL,' is a speaker-knocking banger that acknowledges her work comes at a cost ('I chose the music instead of my friends / Hope they forgive me when they're in the stands'), while 'CHANEL LACES' is another bop that balances self-deprecation with maximalist swagger. Meanwhile, 'MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS' is an introspective earworm that starts with the realization that not even a Rolex can stop time from passing her by. On the focus track and newest single, 'NOSTALGIA BABY,' a wistful reflection on the last ten years, she sums it up in one lyric: 'Stuck between then and now / Bottle up, bottle down / Bitter taste in my mouth / Why was I so fing high then?'
FROM THE GARDEN I GREW is a definitive musical leap for Lily, exploring complex emotions with a mission to inspire those going through dark times to feel seen — and hopeful enough to persevere and bloom into their best selves.
This fall, Lilyisthatyou will embark on 'THE FLOWERS HAVE FEELINGS TOUR,' an international run with singer James the Seventh as main support — her largest headline tour to date (with multiple dates already sold-out) that includes shows at The Roxy in Los Angeles and Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.

About Lilyisthatyou
Lilyisthatyou's confessional yet unapologetic alt-pop pulls no punches, confronting thorny subjects like sexuality, shame, addiction, and identity with unflinching honesty. She has been on this journey since she was 13, writing poetry to process complex emotions and turbulent personal relationships. A few years later, she freestyled over SoundCloud beats before joining studio sessions to hone her writing. Those collabs birthed her 2021 breakthrough song 'FMRN,' an R-rated seduction exposing the double standards women face when expressing sexual desire. Stretching her voice from a delicate trill to a full roar, she produces nearly a song a day. Working in a confessional, irreverent strain of pop — Lily's writing and delivery aim to make anyone who listens feel validated and seen. After a string of independent releases, she bared all on this past spring's 'DIRT ON MY HANDS' EP, a stripped-back reckoning recorded in Sweden. Now she readies more music as she continues growing her world on her own terms, while her fanbase, aptly called The Garden, awaits with bated breath.
