KINKY BOOTS Passes Grammy Baton On To BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL

KINKY BOOTS shares the love for BEAUTIFUL's Grammy Award win!

A thoughtful new social media image depicting what a Grammy Award statuette would look like with a few more sequins on it via one of Broadway's biggest recent hits, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical KINKY BOOTS, is now available to view.

The fellow Grammy Award-winning KINKY BOOTS shared the social media love for BEAUTIFUL following the latter's win in the Best Cast Recording category at last night's 2015 Grammy Awards, commenting, "We're passing the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album to this year's winner, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical! We may have gotten a little glitter on it...".

KINKY BOOTS is a screen-to-stage adaptation of the 2005 British indie film featuring a score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, who took home a 2013 Best Score Tony Award for her efforts on the musical collaboration with playwright, actor and activist Harvey Fierstein and director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell.

The official description of Kinky Boots is as follows: "Charlie Price (Tony nominee Stark Sands) has suddenly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola (Tony winner Billy Porter). A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. Featuring direction and Tony-winning choreography by Jerry Mitchell and a spectacularly uplifting book by four-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein, KINKY BOOTS is the must-see new musical that proves that sometimes, the best way to fit in is to stand out!"
