Legendary UK band James today released their critically acclaimed studio album titled "La Petite Mort" (BMG Chrysalis), now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and in all good record stores nationwide.

Featuring tracks such as the lead single "Moving On", "Frozen Britain" and their latest "Curse Curse", "La Petite Mort" has already been hailed as one of the "Best Albums of 2014" so far by The Guardian, "a treat" by Under The Radar Magazine, and a "complex, layered, and emotive record that finds the band exploring modern electronic sounds and fresh compositions with great results" (VanyaLand).

In support of their current release, James are proud to announce they will be venturing stateside for one night only at the historic Webster Hall in New York City. Tickets go on-sale September 19th at 10:00AM EST and will be available for purchase here.

Praised for their captivating live performances over the years, their current video "Curse Curse" (watch here) gives fans a taste of what's to come during their powerful live sets. The band will be performing tracks from their current album "La Petite Mort" as well as other fan favorites from their highly successful 32-year career. Be sure to catch them live for a once in a lifetime performance on October 21st at New York City's Webster Hall.

Formed in 1982 and first signed to the infamous Factory Records, James are, without doubt, one of the UK's most influential Brit-pop bands of our time, with a prestigious career that spans over 30 years and includes 12 studio albums.

James hold countless notable musicians as fans who speak highly of the their artistry and songwriting, including Michael Stipe, Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher and Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry who claims their 1994 release Wah Wah "changed how I listened to music. And expanded my idea of what collective/group artistic processes could be."

The band's critically acclaimed and Brian Eno produced album "Laid" was their highest charting release in the U.S. debuting in the Billboard Top 200 in 1993, since then they have gone onto release classic hits such as 'Born of Frustration', 'Laid', 'Sit Down', 'Say Something', 'She's A Star', 'Sometimes','Come Home' and 'Getting Away With It (All Messed Up)', and continue to write astoundingly great music to this day.

"La Petite Mort" was produced by Max Dingel (Killers, Muse, White Lies) and was written by the band, with chief lyricist and front-man Tim Booth's captivating and heartfelt lyrics, ranking this new full-length as one of their finest in their impressive 30 year career.

Despite the album's cheerful and uplifting sound, "La Petite Mort" was recorded in the months following the passing of Tim Booth's mother and his best friend. Many of the songs deal with facing mortality (hence the album title), but in true James form -- much like some of the greatest Manchester story-tellers (Morrissey, Guy Garvey, Ian Brown, Richard Ashcroft) -- they also deal with the realness of life (and death), with lyrical poignancy, wit and a charm that has become their trademark.

The current lead single 'Moving On' is a true testament to the band's ability to continually create outstanding music. The simple but incredibly moving animated short film that serves as the single's video was created by esteemed BAFTA award-winning animator and director Ainslee Henderson. "My Mother's death was clearly a birth of some kind and that description caught Ainslie's imagination" explains Booth. Watch the video here.

James are: Tim Booth (vocals), Jim Glennie (bass), Larry Gott (guitars), Saul Davies (guitar, violin), Mark Hunter (keyboards), David Baynton-Power (drums) and Andy Diagram (trumpet).
