Hobo Johnson Premieres 'Father' Music Video

Building out his world yet again, Hobo Johnson shares the music video for his new single "Father" today. The song is available on the Sacramento musical artist's critically acclaimed full-length debut, The Rise of Hobo Johnson [Warner Bros. Records / Reprise Records].

The clip for "Father" continues what's becoming a tradition of unpredictable and undeniable visuals for Hobo Johnson. Rapid editing mirrors his topsy-turvy cadence and thought-provoking adlibs underscored by stirring piano chords. It's yet another illustration of his dynamic persona and quirky vision.

Just recently, he delivered a standout live performance for the coveted NPR Tiny Desk series. Joined by his band The Lovemakers, he ignited "Romeo & Juliet," "Sex in the City," "Peach Scone," and "Creve Coeur 1." To date, it has generated over one million views and continues to climb.

Next up, he embarks on "The Bring Your Mom Tour" this fall. The headline run starts October 4 at House of Blues in New Orleans, LA and performs in major markets coast-to-coast before closing out the six week jaunt on November 21 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN.

With his wild hair, pin-thin mustache, and penchant for offbeat janky production, Northern California's Hobo Johnson (born Frank Lopes Jr.) shares tales of suburban mythos and malaise that Harmony Korine and Wes Anderson would be jealous of. A hybrid of hip-hop, punk, folk, and poetry, these tales unfold across his 2018 full-length debut, The Rise of Hobo Johnson. He went from performing on the street to entrenching himself in the Sacramento music scene by grinding at countless open mics as Soundcloud streams crept into hundreds of thousands. He and the boys recorded a live rendition of "Peach Scone" for a 2018 NPR Tiny Desk contest in the same yard. Acclaim followed from Noisey, DJ Booth, Sacramento Bee, The Needle Drop, and more as he inked a deal with Warner Bros. Records / Reprise Records.
