Hassan Hakmoun to Play Joe's Pub, 4/12

Hassan Hakmoun, the iconic musician who put North African trance traditions on the map is back with a soaring, hypnotic album with rock drive. On his new album Unity (April 12, 2014) he presents its next electric evolution, with all the grit and grace the masterful performer can bring to bear. Hakmoun will be joined by his 6-piece ensemble that includes the sintir, guitar, drums, percussion, flute/sax, and karkaba, the metal double castenets of the Gnawa, to celebrate of the release of Unity with a performance at Joe's Pub on April 12th.
