"Don't Go," the new single from acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Hannah Georgas, is premiering today and can now be streamed HERE. Of the track, which is available tomorrow on iTunes, The Wild Honey Pie praises, "...strikes a perfect balance between lush production and dynamic quiet. The track slowly builds in intensity, as striking percussive hits and her vibrant vocals lead towards the powerful chorus," while Wonderland asserts, "The song does what Georgas does best and gets you squarely in, as it were, the feels."
Moreover, of the inspiration behind the song, Georgas comments, "For the last number of years I had been living far away from family. The distance definitely started weighing on me. I realized that time passes by so quickly and I was really feeling the need to be closer to home. It's an overwhelming feeling coming to terms with the fact that one day my mom isn't going to be around. I was feeling that heaviness when I was writing this song." "Don't Go" is from Georgas' anticipated new full-length album For Evelyn, which will be released this summer on Dine Alone Records. Named after Hannah's "compassionate, patient, kind and beautiful" 98-year-old grandmother, For Evelyn was produced by Graham Walsh (Holy f), mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (The War on Drugs, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, etc) and features collaborations with Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother) and Andy Shauf.Videos
