Garett Gunderson Releases New Album ANYWHERE ANYTIME
Producer Stew Kirkwood and a lineup of musicians join the Edmonton artist on the pop-rock record.
Edmonton singer-songwriter and visual artist Garett Gunderson celebrates love in all its forms on his new album, Anywhere Anytime, available now on all digital streaming platforms. Arriving alongside the album is the feature single 'I Want To,' accompanied by a new lyric video.
Bright, infectious, and unabashedly romantic, 'I Want To' is a burst of pop-rock sunshine, blending classic '60s-inspired verses with sun-soaked surf-rock guitar textures and an irresistible chorus. With one foot in a retro beach movie and the other firmly in contemporary pop-rock, the track captures the excitement of recognizing what matters most in life and embracing it wholeheartedly.
''I Want To' is about recognizing what really matters in your life and embracing it,' says Gunderson. 'I wrote this song about the love of my life – how we met, our journey along the way, including our 'busted-up car' in the lyrics, and where we're going now. Every day, I try to show her my excitement and appreciation for the incredibly special thing we have together.'
That joyful celebration of connection runs throughout Anywhere Anytime, an upbeat pop-rock record built around a simple but increasingly vital idea: love can be found wherever we are, whenever we are open to it.
'This album is full of love,' says Gunderson. 'Every song, in one way or another, is about love – quiet love, rambunctious love, deep soulful love, love by the pool, playful love, long-lasting love, va-va-voom love, healing love, irresistible love. We need more love in our world. Anywhere, anytime is the right place and the right time for LOVE.'
Across the album, Gunderson explores those many shades of love with warmth, playfulness, and emotional honesty. His clear, emotive vocals and heartfelt songwriting move easily between moments of intimacy and exuberance, creating a collection that feels deeply personal while tapping into something universal.
A visual artist as well as a lifelong songwriter, Gunderson approaches music much like painting, building each song through layers of colour, texture, and feeling. That sensibility gives Anywhere Anytime its vibrant musical palette, moving through sunny pop-rock, acoustic warmth, retro influences, and playful arrangements while maintaining a cohesive emotional thread.
Anywhere Anytime marks Gunderson's second collaboration with producer Stew Kirkwood, known for his work with JUNO Award winner Celeigh Cardinal. The album also features an inspired ensemble of musicians, including Kirkwood (guitar, keyboard, bass, drums), Bob Tildesley (trumpet), Allison Ochoa (baritone sax), Rob Shapiro (organ), Tim Cotton and Stephanie Suchy (harmony vocals), and the Itunu Choir. Together, they have crafted a record that balances heartfelt intimacy with vibrant, radio-ready energy.
With Anywhere Anytime, Gunderson turns his attention fully toward the here and now, celebrating connection, gratitude, joy, and the many ways love makes itself known.
