Dave Davies Of The Kinks Releases New Album 'Decade'

Founding member of The Kinks Dave Davies has released a his new album Decade, a collection of unreleased songs recorded in the 1970's. The album is currently out via Red River Entertainment/The Orchard and Green Amp Records, and Davies will be on tour in early 2019. Decade is currently available via these outlets and more.

Decade has built substantial anticipation among music tastemakers since its announcement and the release of the 1973 track "Cradle To The Grave" which earned acclaim from Rolling Stone, Spin, Uncut and more. You can listen to the track HERE. The song "Same Old Blues" was subsequently premiered via Billboard who writes, "It was recorded in an exploratory fashion in the Kinks' own recording studio, Konk, during downtime between touring and recording sessions - but Decade is satisfyingly fully formed." Davies also spoke with Consequence Of Sound about the origins of the track "This Precious Time (Long Lonely Road)."

In what may be considered the sequel to 2011's Hidden Treasures, which chronicled Davies' solo recordings from the 1960's, Decade pulls back the curtain on the legendary guitarist and songwriter's unreleased works spanning 1971 to 1979. Davies writes, "I am so pleased that after all this time these tracks are being released to see the light of day. These songs have been silently nagging at me to be recognised all these years. At last I can proudly present this album Decade to the world. I do hope you all enjoy the music."
