The Ridgefield Playhouse and Pepsi Rock Series Powered by Xfinity bring the powerhouse vocals of Melissa Etheridge back to The Playhouse on Monday, December 5 at 8pm. For this special holiday show, which is partially underwritten by The Law Offices of Eric R. Posmantier, LLC and Green Rocks Inn, Melissa will be performing songs from her 2008 holiday album, A New Thought For Christmas. Songs include holiday classics such as "Merry Christmas Baby," Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "O Night Divine" along with many of her fan favorites and more! Best known for her powerhouse rock hits "Bring Me Some Water, "No Souvenirs" and "Ain't It Heavy" - for which she won her first Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal - she is one of rock music's great female icons.

Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window," a searing song of longing that brought her a second Grammy. Etheridge is also an Oscar winner for Best Original Song in 2007. In 2011 Melissa made her Broadway debut as St. Jimmy in Green Day's rock opera, American Idiot, where she replaced Billie Joe Armstrong for one week, and has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Etheridge recently released MEmphis Rock and Soul, which covers rock classics and revisits old favorites. Make it a great night out with dinner and a show - visit Southwest Café (109 Danbury Road, Ridgefield) and enjoy a complimentary margarita with your entree when you show your ticket! On June 20, 2016, Etheridge released a song called "Pulse." The singer wrote the song in reaction to the mass shootings that took place in Orlando on June 12, 2016. As she told Rolling Stone, "We want to try to make sense. We want to try to heal. We want to bring some meaning, some purpose. We also want to put it down forever in history. That's how I'm coping." All proceeds from the sale of "Pulse" will benefit Equality Florida, the states largest LGBT civil rights organization.

For tickets ($125), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
