'Grease' Director Kleiser Talks Sing-Along & Film's New Songs

thestar.com's Richard Ouzounian interviewed Randal Kleiser, who directed the film version of 'Grease.'  Kleiser discussed the new 'Grease: Sing-A-Long' ("Now it's slick and revamped and pretty amazing"), his surprise at the film's enduring popularity ("a movie we made as a summertime treat for kids in the '70s has endured with audiences around the world for over 30 years"), and the new songs that were written for the film ("The original finale was a song called ‘All Shook Up,' which didn't really go anywhere, but once I heard ‘You're the One That I Want,' I knew we had something that would really land big"), among other topics.  To read the full interview, click here

'Grease Sing-Along' will play select theatres in Ocala, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Seattle, Miami, San Diego, Austin, and Atlanta.

Directed by Randal Kleiser and based on Jim Jacobs' and WarRen Casey's musical of the same name, 'Grease' was released in 1978 by Paramount Pictures to tremendous critical and popular acclaim. The film was nominated for five Golden Globes and an Academy Award, and was the winner of the People's Choice Award for Best Musical. Grease stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing and Jeff Conaway.
