The Sisterhood of Veterans steam train ride at the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad is set to take place on Saturday October 5 at 12:45PM. The Sisterhood of Veterans is a social support program for women veterans and active duty women based around support, recreation, promoting volunteerism in the veteran community and philanthropic activities at low to no cost to participants. "We all have the military in common, we all have unique experiences that we use to assist and support each other," says Kristina Setchfield, Marine Corps vet and event planner for the Sisterhood. "We use social media like Facebook.com to find each other and Meetup.com to plan our events."

"We encourage women from all branches of the service to join us for a day of fun and camaraderie," says Sarah Andrews, Navy veteran and co-founder of the Sisterhood of Veterans. "We are proud to support our military and are pleased we can provide a chance for these veterans to connect," said MeiLee Anderson, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad.

Veterans will meet at the train depot in Elbe, WA by the Sisterhood of Veterans flag prior to boarding the 12:45PM train. Veterans will have a chance to meet each other in a relaxed setting as they ride a vintage steam train through the scenic foothills of Mt. Rainier.
