Curran Partners With Humphry Slocombe To Create WE GOT THE BEET Today, Carole Shorenstein Hays announced that the Curran has partnered with Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream to create "We Got the Beet," a limited edition ice cream flavor celebrating the pre-Broadway engagement of HEAD OVER HEELS, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic music of The Go-Go's. Using whole organic beets from San Francisco's Ferry Building Farmers Market, "We Got the Beet" incorporates homemade raspberry jam and hand-squeezed lime juice to create a flavor that is light and fruity. The creamy pink creation made with Straus Family Farm Organic dairy carries a sweetness from the beets, highlighting the all natural ingredients in the handmade ice cream. Your lips will certainly NOT be sealed!

Jake Godby, Chef and Co-Founder of Humphry Slocombe, says, "With the Curran launching its first season since its extensive renovation, Humphry Slocombe is thrilled to be a part of the festivities for the highly anticipated HEAD OVER HEELS with the creation of 'We Got the Beet.'"

Beginning Sunday, April 1, "We Got the Beet" will be available at all Humphry Slocombe locations (2790 Harrison Street and 1 Ferry Building in San Francisco; and The Hive: 2335 Broadway, Oakland).

Humphry Slocombe will serve complimentary scoops of the ice cream flavor on opening night of HEAD OVER HEELS, on Wednesday, April 18. HEAD OVER HEELS will perform at the Curran (445 Geary St., San Francisco) April 10-May 6, 2018 ahead of its Broadway premiere (opening July 26 at Hudson Theatre). Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening), HEAD OVER HEELS is an unpredictable, Elizabethan romp about a royal family that must prevent an oracle's prophecy of doom. In order to save their beloved kingdom, the family embarks on an extravagant journey wrought with mistaken identities, jealous lovers, sexual awakening, scandal and self-discovery, where everything (and everyone) is not quite what it seems. Single tickets range in price from $29-$175 and are available by calling 415-358-1220 or visiting SFCURRAN.com.

The Curran's official reopening in 2016, following an extensive, two-year, top-to-bottom renovation, became one of the most widely discussed and covered cultural happenings in San Francisco. A key component of the national movement to renovate and revitalize America's great culture palaces from coast-to-coast, the Curran's impact has resonated far beyond the seven square miles of its hometown.

The Curran's impact extends to the Bay Area's education system, with a strong emphasis on student-focused initiatives and programming, including hosting student performances of Eclipsed and The Encounter, as well as presenting the first ever amateur performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock: The Musical, which were performed entirely by the students of Oakland School for the Arts.

About Humphry Slocombe: Rebellious and unapologetic, Humphry Slocombe's ice cream has its own personality and flavors that appeal to adult tastes, but is loved by all.
