Celebrate National Margarita Day at REFINERY ROOFTOP in Midtown

Thursday, February 22nd is National Margarita Day but you can celebrate this favorite tequila based drink every day. The varieties of Margaritas are endless, inspired by flavored liquors, fruits and spices. It is a cocktail that pairs wonderfully with an array of foods and the drink makes a great anytime sip.

If you're wondering when the Margarita was invented, it is believed that the drink was developed in 1938 by a Mexican restaurant owner named Carlos Herrera. When he learned that a gorgeous Ziegfeld showgirl, Marjorie King was allergic to all types of alcohol except tequila, he mixed her a drink with tequila, salt and lime, creating the world's first Margarita.

Refinery Rooftop, located at 68 West 38th Street in the heart of Midtown's Garment District, will be celebrating National Margarita Day with limited edition Casamigo Tequila Margaritas. Take in the stellar views of Manhattan's Empire State Building as you savor a refreshing drink at the chic venue.

Refinery's special cocktail menu includes the "Mango Basil Margarita" made with Casamigo's Blanco, Mango, Basil, Lime, and Tajin. "Eastern Inspiration" is a blend of Casamigos's Reposado, Yuzu, Agave, and Dashi. Or try the "Margarita Highball" with Casamigo's Anejo, Orange-lime cordial, Serrano, Seltzer, and Kaffir Lime Leaf.

Light fare like Refinery Rooftop's Disco Tots, Warm Olives, Frico Grilled Cheese, and Crispy Calamari are ideal to have with Margaritas. Raise a glass and enjoy!
