In May of 2016, audiences at Flat Rock Playhouse were enamored by the boundless ball of energy that played the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the season's smash hit, Million Dollar Quartet. Described locally and nationally as "the one standout star", the man that "steals the show again and again with his antics and musical outrageousness... or spark of genius", and the "acrobat, pianist of incomparable skill and singing actor who lights up the house to steal the show," Nat Zegree has become a household name for Flat Rock Playhouse fans over the last year and a half. Back again, this time in a more classical light, to take on the role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the upcoming play, Amadeus, Nat continues to astound Playhouse patrons with his musical prowess and contagious spirit; so much so, that additional plans have been made for an extra One Nat Only performance at the end of this month.

Upon patron request for anything and everything Nat Zegree, Flat Rock Playhouse has decided to provide an exclusive one-night only concert, entitled One Nat Only, featuring the up-and-coming super star himself, and of course, a piano. On Monday, September 25th at 7 PM, Zegree will lead audiences on a fun journey through the history of music and how it has affected the world today via a mix of games, requests & improvisation, all without sheet music!

Having begun his classical training at the age of three, Nat has continued to develop his skills ever since with music as a constant presence in his life. Raised by parents who were both accomplished pianists in their own right, Nat grew up listening to nothing but the best of the best: Mozart, Beethoven & Gershwin; and even, what he considered the "fun" music: Motown, Michael, Stevie and Frankie. Though he trained classically, it was his freedom to explore other genres that led him to discover one of his most awe-inspiring talents, the ability to play by ear without any music whatsoever.

"The piano, in many ways, has been my oldest and truest friend. I would discover... through the piano. I wanted to play everything and be able to seamlessly transition from Mozart to Michael Jackson, to Ella Fitzgerald, to the Spongebob Squarepants theme, to Star Wars." - Nat Zegree

Playing, exploring and discovering with his oldest friend also taught him that, though playing was rewarding quite personally, what he loved most was playing for other people. This ability to pull "a request of theirs out of my mind felt like the greatest gift." It is with this in mind, that Flat Rock Playhouse provides Zegree with the platform upon which he can share that very gift with the community here in Western North Carolina. Widely considered the epitome of showmanship, Zegree will generously star in this One Nat Only concert as a fundraiser for Flat Rock Playhouse in the midst of his run as Amadeus in the play of the same title. A master of all genres, this exclusive performance will surely reflect that in scope. A pianist, singer, songwriter, and quite literal great ball of fire, Nat will bring something for everyone in this once in a lifetime entertainment opportunity. Tickets on sale TODAY for the one man show that will feature Flat Rock Playhouse's most talked about performer of the season.

There's nothin' more to say than One Nat Only, don't you Zegree?

One Nat Only will run for one night only on September 25th on the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage at 7 PM. Tickets are $35, and can be purchased by calling the Playhouse Box Office at 828-693-0731, toll-free at 866-732-8008 or online at www.flatrockplayhouse.org.
