Join Bucky Pizzarelli and the namesake who helped start his career in an evening of live music, Sunday, October 15 at 4 p.m. at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts. Tickets are on sale now for theatre members and go on sale to the public Tuesday, September 12 at 10 a.m.

For more than seven decades, the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli has had a stellar career. The guitarist got his start at age 17 playing with Vaughn Monroe. As "the complete jazz musician," he has been a fixture in jazz and the studios since the 1940s. The list of big bands and vocalists with whom Bucky has performed and recorded reads like a veritable who's who of jazz. One of the era's most solid rhythm players, Pizzarelli is in high demand, playing and touring with Benny Goodman, Zoot Sims, Bud Freeman, Stephane Grappelli, The Tonight Show Band and Frank Sinatra. Most recently, he recorded with Paul McCartney on his new Grammy Award winning album, "Kisses on the Bottom." At the age of 91, he still tours and performs all over the world.

The Pizzarelli sound is unmistakable, and the beloved guitarist has developed a very personal style that sets him apart. Now, for the first time since 1953, the rhythm guitar master returns as a special guest with the new Vaughn Monroe Orchestra.

The Vaughn Monroe Orchestra transports the audience to October 1949, just after World War II. Under the direction of Dan Gabel, the orchestra performs Monroe's hits, along with the Moon Maids vocal group, a dancing duo, a comedian, and skits from the Camel Caravan radio and TV show. Audiences hear songs including "Racing with the Moon," "There, I've Said It Again," "Ballerina," "Let it Snow" and "Ghost Riders in the Sky." The orchestra uses original hand-written manuscripts through special arrangement with the Monroe family and New England Conservatory.

Tickets to Bucky Pizzarelli and the Vaughn Monroe Orchestra start at $25. Discounts are available to members of The Hanover Theatre and groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available online at TheHanoverTheatre.org, by phone at 877.571.SHOW (7469) or at The Hanover Theatre box office located at 2 Southbridge Street in downtown Worcester.
