The High Plains Comedy Festival, brought to you by Illegal Pete's,Denver Relief, Sexy Pizza, and Odell Brewing Co., is excited to announce the second wave of festival performers, the locals representing Denver! The Denver comedy scene has exploded onto the national comedy consciousness, leaving many comics and comedy fans alike to wonder, "What's going on in Denver that they're churning out such great comedians?" These performers working their butts off is what. From local legends to current heavy-hitters to up-and-coming performers who you may not know about but should, the comedians here represent the best of what Denver comedy is all about. These talented locals performing at the festival can be found on the website, national headliners below.

"I'm really excited to have guys like Chuck Roy and Troy Baxley on the bill," comments festival co-curator Adam Cayton-Holland. "Guys who have been around this scene for a long time. But I'm also excited to have people like the Fine Gentleman's Club who put so much work into what the scene is currently, alongside young comics who are performing in their first festival ever. I really think it's a great showcase of our city's talent on all levels."

"Denver's comedy scene rivals talent pools anywhere in the country outside of the big 3 markets, and comics want to come here because the legendary shows and clubs are such a blast between the smart, engaged audiences and the friendly, hilarious, talented comics," says co-curator Andy Juett. "High Plains Comedy Festival will be crammed with Denver talent, allowing the country's best to be elbow-to-elbow with our best. It's hard to tell which is which to the casual comedy fan because Denver comics are killers with fanbases too."

"Picking who to put on the bill was damn near impossible," explains Cayton-Holland. "There are just so many good comics in this city. That's why I'm really excited for the open mic at the Hornet that will be running throughout the festival. I hope those people that didn't grab a showcase spot in the festival this year for whatever reason will swing by the Hornet and tell some jokes, so that everyone can see just how expansive and impressive the comedy talent in this city truly is. I hope the Hornet is as fun as any room at the festival."

"High Plains Comedy Festival? More like High Plains Comedy Friendstival!" says Juett. "Denver's comics and the rest that are coming in from out of town work together a lot all over the place so there's going to be a lot of laughs for the audience, but also between the comics. Basically this will be a Denver comedy party of biblical proportions. Clink glasses. Shake...you know."
