Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness, the play most requested for revival at the Irish Classical Theatre Company, will open on Friday, October 30, 2009. Last presented by ICTC at The Calumet in 1994 to great audience and critical acclaim, the play was directed by Fortunato Pezzimenti and starred Vincent O'Neill, Mark Donahue and Richard Wesp.

Reflecting on the play, ICTC Artistic Director said, "This thought provoking drama is deeply affecting to audiences because it deals with themes that are both universal and timeless. The author describes the setting as "A Cell" and the time as "Now,"' he continued. "Sadly, little has changed on the world stage in the fifteen years since ICTC's first production of the play. It remains as timely and relevant today as it was then," O'Neill concluded.

Under the direction of Irish Classical Theatre Company's Associate Director Greg Natale, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me will open Friday, October 30 and continue through Sunday, November 22, 2009 at ICTC's home, the Andrews Theatre, 625 Main Street, Buffalo, New York.

Someone Who'll Watch Over Me is the story of three strangers - an Irishman, an Englishman and an American - taken hostage in Lebanon and their struggle to maintain their sanity and survive by overcoming their personal and nationalistic differences. Filled with humor, poignancy and tenderness, this Tony nominated play gives us pause to consider the futility of war, the depths of man's inhumanity to man and both the fragility and triumph of the human spirit.

Someone Who'll Watch Over Me stars ICTC Artistic Director Vincent O'Neill as Edward, the Irishman; Lou Colaiacovo as Michael, the Englishman and Dan Walker as Adam, the American.

Supporting the production are Production Stage Manager Michelle Eisen, Assistant Stage Manager Laura O'Neill, Lighting Designer and Technical Director Brian Cavanagh, Set Designer Ron Schwartz, Sound Designer Tom Makar and Costume Designer Kari Drozd.
