Anthony Kearns to Make Debut Performance in Scenic Mount Dora

By:

World-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns of the PBS super-group, The Irish Tenors, will make a debut performance in Mount Dora, FL on Sat., Oct. 29, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

"I visited Mount Dora for the first time about two years ago and was struck by its beauty. It's a gem hidden in Lake County, known for its arts and crafts, unique stores and antiques," said Kearns. "Mount Dora is the perfect setting for a concert with music of beauty throughout the ages."

The program will feature "literally something for everyone"-- with favorite classical and inspiring songs, folk music, Broadway hits--and of course, music from Mr. Kearns' native Ireland.

Mr. Kearns first took the American television audience by storm in 1999 as the youngest member of The Irish Tenors, with whom he has five PBS Specials and 10 CDs. His solo career includes high-profile celebrity engagements, major television appearances, concert tours, leading operatic roles, and collaborations with the finest orchestras, including the Boston Pops, the Chicagoland Pops, and the National Symphony Orchestra. He has performed for three U.S. Presidents, and most recently, for Pope Francis I in 2015. Kearns recently released his first solo album, "With a Song in My Heart."

Last year, Kearns was invited to perform a special September 11 Tribute at a local benefit hosted by Tobias Harris of the Orlando Magic. Kearns, a favorite of Floridians, has performed leading tenor roles with Opera Naples, including Romeo and Juliet: Then and Now -- which combined Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet and Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story - as well as "Edgardo" in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor and Charles Gounod's Faust. Additional roles include tenor role of "Nemorino" in Gulfshore Opera's production of Gaetano Donizetti's comic opera, L'Elisir d'amore.

Earlier this year, Kearns headlined a concert at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and the launch of the world-wide commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising in New York City. He also headlined "The Celtic Concert" with the Grand Rapids Symphony at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, MI.

Upcoming Kearns' concerts and appearances include Phoenix, AZ (Oct.15), Mt. Dora, FL (Oct. 29), Chicago, IL (Nov. 12 and 13), New York (Dec. 2), with others to be announced.
