The Bike Cop: In the Greater Weight of Evidence Released When James H.K. Bruner’s six children were young, he would make up bedtime stories for them on the spot. He realized back then that he had a knack for spinning tales. His talent for storytelling led him to write “The Bike Cop: In the Greater Weight of Evidence” (published by Xlibris). For more details about the book, please visit https://www.amazon.com/Bike-Cop-Greater-Weight-Evidence/dp/1984511157.

The book tells the story of David “Digger” Davenport, a 19-year-old college student who develops a penchant for solving crimes. He takes a summer job issuing parking tickets for a small seaside town in Maine not knowing that he will end up solving a murder that has uprooted the community.

“This is a coming-of-age story in which a young man perseveres against politics, racism and evil to see the truth and justice prevail,” Bruner says. “It addresses today’s conflicts of race and animosity. I hope to entertain readers both young and old.”

An excerpt from the book:

In the good old days in this small Maine seaport, it was safe for an eleven-year-old boy to fish alone at five in the morning. Who could predict that this day was one of the last of the good old days in Port Talbot?
