The Famous Monsters Halloween Convention, already packed with genre stars such as Malcolm McDowell and Doug Bradley, has added three more guests of Godlike stature to its roster - gods of an American variety, to be exact.

Starz' new TV show AMERICAN GODS, based on the bestselling sci-fi / fantasy book by Neil Gaiman, has been a runaway hit with readers and newcomers alike, and Famous Monsters recently announced that Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon), Orlando Jones (Mr. Nancy), and Demore Barnes (Mr. Ibis) would appear as guests at the Famous Monsters Halloween Convention.

Season One of AMERICAN GODS aired on Starz from April 2017 through June 2017 to great critical acclaim. "It's one of the most imaginative, adventurous, and deeply weird experiments on television - an entrancingly trippy metaphorical melee that elevates an investigation of American identity to a supernatural plane," wrote Michael Andor Brodeur of The Boston Globe. "Gaiman's flair for uncompromising detail also informs the show's more gruesome moments. Gods don't duke it out in court after all; so limb-severing sword fights a la GAME OF THRONES are reliably notched up with fever dream blood floods a la THE SHINING."

Famous Monsters Publisher Philip Kim makes similar comparisons: "With hits like GAME OF THRONES, the lines between horror and fantasy are more blurred than ever, and FM plans to embrace both sides."

The convention will be hosted at the San Jose Convention Center on October 27-29, 2017.
