The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D'Youville College, will continue its 36th season with the production of THE CITY OF CONVERSATION -- written by Anthony Giardina and directed by Robert Waterhouse.

This limited engagement, which opens on February 26 and runs through March 20, 2016, features an all-star cast, including Debbie Pappas Sham, Adriano Gatto, Aleks Malejs, Kristen Tripp Kelley, Steve Jakiel, David Lundy, Loraine O'Donnell, Aaron Moss, Tyler Eisenmann, and Joel Fesmire.

"Nothing could be more topical than Anthony Giardina's THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, in which characters collide over presidential races and Supreme Court nominations. Covering three decades and four administrations, the play resonates today with the current debates gripping our headlines." - Director, Robert Waterhouse.

In 1979, Washington, D.C. was still a place where bipartisan deals would happen in the drawing rooms of wealthy socialites. Georgetown in particular was famous for parties hosted by women who could ease compromises between Senators and Congressmen and foster insight in sitting presidents. Hester is one such doyenne: groomed during the Kennedy administration, she still works to push forward her liberal agenda from her Georgetown dining room, until she finds opposition in the ranks of her own family: her son, and his new girlfriend, a Reaganite Republican, who has a hunger for power that matches Hester's. Their agendas collide in ways that test the characters' dedication to their respective ideals and that ask searing questions about the nature of human relationships.

Performances for this four-week limited engagement (February 26 - March 20, 2016) will take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $42.00, with discounts available to seniors, students, the military, and groups. For tickets, call (716) 829-7668 or visit kavinokytheatre.com.
