RLTP to Stage World-Premiere of Post-Apocalyptic Play AFTER AMERICA

By:

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will present the world-premiere of After America: Wasteland 2015 by RLTP Ensemble member & Literary Director Jon Elston. The post-apocalyptic-themed piece will star Lisa Vitrano, Peter Palmisano, Steve Brachmann, Monish Bhattacharyya, Danica Riddick, and Kelsey Mogensen.

We're all aware of how the Mayan Apocalypse annihilated human civilization as we know it with its diabolic onslaught of blizzards, zombies, and jaguars. Now the creative team that brought you the explosive hit play 2012: End Of The Road returns to ask, What happened next?

Three years later, what's left of the United States government struggles to restore some semblance of order. Only 919 confirmed American survivors remain, all of them housed in a handful of small camps where they are trained in skills necessary to rebuild civilization. At Camp Evangola, South of Buffalo, NY (a.k.a. the newly minted East Coast), four disparate survivors labor to undertake a mission vital to the future of the human race. You see, a hundred and fifty InterContinental Ballistic Missiles have long lied dormant below the frozen plains of North Dakota. Who the heck has been keeping an eye on them in the aftermath of the Apocalypse? Yeah, exactly... nobody. Now a potential chain reaction of atomic devastation threatens to successfully wipe out the fragile remnants of mankind.

This world-premiere play explores how fractious political animosities continue to simmer to a boil even in a post-apocalyptic landscape-even deep inside an underground nuclear silo! The question is...Who will save the new world?
