Cambridge American Stage Tour?s TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA Opens On 9/8
By: Reynard Loki
This September, from 3,500 miles across the Atlantic, sixteen of the finest actors, directors, designers and technicians from the University of Cambridge present the hilarious and heartwarming Shakespearean comedy that is Two Gentlemen of Verona.
Two Gentlemen of Verona tells the story of Proteus, Valentine and their affections for Julia and Silvia. Over the course of the play, the meandering journeys of these lovers bring them into contact with several servants, two clowns, three forestdwelling outlaws and a small dog: above all, Two Gentlemen of Verona is a charming and carefree story about the universal experience of being young, confused and in love. Founded in 2000, CAST is proud to be celebrating its 10th Anniversary Tour with an exciting and expansive 4000 mile route, where the company will be performing in twelve different venues across the United States. This year’s tour takes the group through ten states; from Massachusetts to Virginia; from Florida to Pennsylvania. Stopping off in the Carolinas and Georgia for the first time, the 2009 tour is the biggest in the company’s history. As CAST’s 10th Anniversary Production in the University of Cambridge’s 800th Anniversary year, Two Gentlemen of Verona is certain to be the best offering yet.Videos
