THE LION KING To Premiere in Brazil in March by Kelsey Denette
- October 04, 2012 Disney's THE LION KING will make its South American premiere in São Paulo, Brazil. T4F (Time For Fun), will present the production with its opening night on March 7th, 2013 at the Teatro Abril. THE LION KING in São Paulo will mark two firsts: as the largest stage musical ever presented in Brazil and the first time the show has been performed in Portuguese. When the South American production opens, it will mark the sixth continent in which THE LION KING will have played and will become the 21st production, worldwide.

- September 04, 2012 Adriana Varejão, one of the most acclaimed contemporary artists of her generation, will be honored with an important retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo, Brazil, from 4 September through 16 December 2012. Curated by Adriano Pedrosa, Varejão's long-time collaborator, Histories at the Margins will feature 42 works created over two decades, including early paintings such as Milagre dos Peixes (1991) as well as newly created works for the exhibition, among them a large-scale polyptych composed of 54 panels entitled Carnivoras.

- June 11, 2012 Chiquinha Gonzaga, (1847/1935) was the first woman to compose for the musical theatre in Brazil. Chiquinha was an active citizen, involved in all kinds of social movements that took place during her age in Brazil, such as the Abolition of Slavery and even the Republican movement. Chiquinha is most known for her works for the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, such as Ó Abre Alas, and theatrical composition as FORROBODÓ, which opened at the begining of the last century, on 11th June, 1912. The show had an extraordinary run of 1500 performances. Next month FORROBODÓ will be revived ( the opening night will be tonight, 11th, June, 2012) with a new production in Rio de Janeiro, brought by Thiago Cantarelli and Vitavision Audiovisual Ltda, with the Musical Direction of Roberto Carelli, also in charge for the new orchestration of the score (based on Gonzaga's originals).

Brazilian Actor Accidentally Hangs Himself While Playing 'Judas' by Nicole Rosky
- April 23, 2012 According to the Associated Press, Brazilian actor Tiago Klimeck, who accidentally hung himself during a Passion play, has died. The 27-year-old, who was re-enacting Judas' suicide in the production, passed away from cerebral hypoxia yesterday- 17 days after the incident.

THE LION KING in São Paulo will mark two firsts: as the largest stage musical ever presented in Brazil and the first time the show has been performed in Portuguese. The Disney and Cameron Mackintosh musical, MARY POPPINS will be produced in Mexico City by OCESA. The production will be performed for the first time in Spanish and will begin performances on November 14th, 2012 at the Telmex Cultural Center, in Mexico City.

Sophia Vari Sculptures Go On View In Cartagena December 4 by Gabrielle Sierra
- December 02, 2011 The Mayor of Cartagena, Judith Pinedo, the Institute of Culture of Cartagena in collaboration with the NH Galería will present a major outdoor exhibition of 15 monumental sculptures by the internationally renowned Greek artist Sophia Vari. After exhibiting in Paris, Monte Carlo, Singapore, Athens, and most recently at the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, the sculptures will be on view in the historic old town of Cartagena, from December 4th through February 29th.
