Steeped (品) - Open Rehearsal at Goethe-Institut Boston

A new play by Yide Cai reimagines the Boston Tea Party from the perspective of the tea itself, developed during a Studio 170 Artist Residency. Two actors rehearsing a production about the historic event discover their tea puppet prop has begun to speak, revealing itself as the tea that lay in Boston Harbor for 250 years. The open rehearsal allows the public to observe the creative process and interact with artists during breaks. The production features director Skye Xiaotian Lu, scenographer Qingan Zhang, puppetry designer Xinyue Zhang, and performers Naomi Kim and Jaime José Hernández.
