Celebrate the holiday season with New England’s largest production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. You know the story and love the message, but you’ll never see another Christmas Carol like this! Adapted by president and CEO Troy Siebels and featuring the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, our 14th annual production is set with timeless music, colorful costumes and spectacular lighting and scenery. New and returning cast members tell the tale of curmudgeonly miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the Spirits of Christmases Past, Present and Yet To Come.
What Makes This Performance Special
A sensory friendly performance is a specially adapted show, modified for adults and children who might benefit from a more relaxed environment. Typically, they are intended as a unique theatre experience where individuals and families impacted by autism or other sensitivities can attend together free of stress or self-consciousness. With guidance from Seven Hills Foundation, The Arc of Opportunity, Autism Resource Central, Autism Theatre Initiative, Autism Speaks and Theatre Development Fund, we have softened the most startling moments of the show. House lights are kept on but dimmed for the entirety of the performances and sounds are lower in volume and intensity. Accommodations of support will be provided, including a quiet area for individuals and families that need a break from the experience where staff and volunteers can assist patrons’ needs.
Tickets are $16, $26 and $31 made possible by sponsorship of UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School. Please contact the box office at 877.571.7469 for more information.
The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts is at 2 Southbridge St, Worcester, MA.
