Welcome to Desire, the fantastical reinterpretation of Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire by Nari Tomassetti Presents returns to the AllWays Lounge and Theater for a second ribald run. Hailed by the NOLA Defender's Jim Fitzmorris as containing "…the life force of (a) five day event" Welcome to Desire premiered at the 2011 New Orleans Fringe Festival to rave reviews. The show includes an original score by Matt Bell played live by his symphonic orchestra, epic battles of man versus beast, rollicking shadow puppets, punk rock divas, and wanton wildcats.

"Director Nari Tomassetti and her local troupe have reimagined Tennessee Williams' NOLA classic, A Streetcar Named Desire into an original work. The play's sexual elements have been distilled and then inserted into a world with the aesthetic of a David Lynch dream sequence, and the physical movement of Ringling Brothers' third ring. In short, (Tomassetti) has tamed the spirit of the Quarters for just long enough to place it on a stage" says Lancey Howard of [Insert Media Outlet Here].

Performances will be at the AllWays Lounge and Theater, 2240 St. Claude Avenue (at Marigny st.) opening Thursday March 16th, at 8pm, Friday the 16th at 8pm, and Saturday the 17th at 10pm, and again the following weekend, Thursday the 22nd through Sunday the 25th at 8pm with the Saturday night show on the 24th at 10pm. Thursday March 15th is a special Press and Industry showcase. Tickets are $13. For advance tickets visit http://theallwayslounge.net. Be aware there will be adult content, nudity, and strobes 18+.
