The Company Theatre Will Host SCENE, SONG, AND SIP Interactive Night Out

The Company Theatre will invide audiences to step out of their seats and into the spotlight at "Scene, Song, and Sip," an interactive evening of music, comedy, cocktails, and audience participation on Friday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Designed as a lively, one-of-a-kind night out, the event blends live performance with improv-inspired games, audience interaction, and musical moments shaped in real time by the crowd itself.

"This is your chance to go from the audience to the stage," said Zoe Bradford, co-founder, artistic director and president of The Company Theatre. "We wanted to create something welcoming, spontaneous, and genuinely fun, whether you're a longtime theater fan or just looking for a different kind of night out with friends."

Throughout the evening, audience members will have opportunities to join Company Theatre performers on stage, contribute suggestions, and help transform familiar songs through playful Mad Libs-style lyric swaps and interactive scenes.

The event combines the energy of live theater with the relaxed atmosphere of a social night out. A cash bar will be available, along with classic theater snacks including popcorn and candy.

Organizers say the evening is designed to feel approachable and entertaining rather than formal or intimidating.

"This isn't a sit quietly and clap kind of event," said Michael Hammond, managing director of development. "It's about laughing, participating, and sharing an experience together. People can engage as much or as little as they want, but the whole night is built around having fun."

Ticket purchases for "Scene, Song, and Sip" will support The Company Theatre's ongoing stage restoration efforts, helping preserve the performance space that has hosted decades of productions, classes, and community events on the South Shore.

"Our stage has been through decades of productions," Hammond said. "It's been built on, danced on, and transformed countless times. We even flooded it for Singin' in the Rain. Every ticket helps us continue creating experiences like this for future audiences and performers."

The Company Theatre has long served as a creative hub for the South Shore, welcoming performers and audiences of all ages. Generations of local actors, students, and theater lovers have passed through its doors, with some continuing on to professional careers in the arts.

"Generations after generations have come through our programs," Bradford said. "What makes this place special is the sense of community people feel the moment they walk through the doors."
