THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME Norton Singers Cast Unveiled
Doug Hodge directs a cast of 40+ with music direction by Ben Oehlkers and score by Alan Menken
Norton Singers will present THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, with performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 5, 6, 12, and 13 at 7:30 p.m., and a Sunday matinee on June 14 at 2:00 p.m. The production is currently in rehearsals, with performers preparing the musical for its upcoming run.
Based on the novel by Victor Hugo and songs from the Walt Disney Company animated feature, the musical features an Academy Award-nominated score, along with new material by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. The book is by Peter Parnell and incorporates elements of story theatre, including passages from Hugo’s original text.
As with previous Norton Singers productions, the focus will be on vocal performance and orchestration. The production will feature an ensemble of more than 40 performers accompanied by a full orchestra. Direction is by Doug Hodge, with music direction by Ben Oehlkers.
This program is funded in part by grants from the Norton Cultural Council and Mansfield Cultural Council, local agencies supported by the Mass Cultural Council.
